The following information was found on www.copyright.gov. The Copyright Act of 1976 gives authors and creators right to protect their work and share it with people that they want to share with. It is illegal to use images and content online unless that use is protected as "fair use" or you have permission from the creator or author. Copyright laws protect works like pictures, recordings, literary works, graphics, and audiovisual creations. Web site content is protected. If you take something from a website without permission and are using the content contrary to the fair use rules you are breaking copyright laws. If the work has the word "Copyright" or the copyright symbol, it has stated that it is protected by copyright.
